Citation by Grade Level

Grade8

Grade eight students will be able to search databases and Google, including the advanced search functions of each. You will be expected to find valid resources and create summaries or restate the information in your own words. You will also be expected to document your resources by recording most of the information required to complete the citation worksheet.

Grade 9

As a grade nine student you will be able to search databases and Google, including the advanced search functions of each. You will be expected to find and use valid resources from a variety of sources like databases, interviews, videos, websites, and books. You will use the research to create summaries, restate ideas in your own words and use direct quotes in your research.  You will document your resources by recording the relevant data required to complete the citation worksheet, then type the information in a  Works Cited page.

Grade 10 -12

In grades ten through twelve you are expected to conduct research in databases, Google, and Google Scholar to find valid resources that support your research. You will fill out your citation worksheet but should then generate citations that are recorded in the proper format for a Works Cited/Reference page.  You will summarize, quote, and support your reserach with multiple sources icluding databases, primary and secondary resources, websites, and print materials.
